Pecan Creek Interceptor IV Project
1. Location: From the intersection of Crescent and Fulton to the field behind Newton
Rayzor Elementary School
2. Proposed Date of Construction: June 5, 2017
3. Proposed Date of Completion: December 22, 2017
4. Brief Description of the Project:
The Pecan Creek Interceptor IV project is required to expand the flow capacity of the
existing sanitary sewer system. The existing 15 inch dimeter sewer line is 50 years old
and is too small to handle current flows, so a new 30 inch diameter sewer line is being
installed to accommodate both existing flows and future flow projections. Additionally,
old water and sewer lines in Fulton Street next to Denton High up to Cordell Street are
being replaced due to poor condition.
5. Special Requirements:
The Fulton-Crescent intersection will be closed during summer break but will reopen
prior to the beginning of school on August 16, 2017. Detour signage will identify
alternate routes for vehicle transit.
6. Funding Source:
The project is funded by Wastewater bond funds and Water revenue funds. Total
construction cost is $1,038,187.
7. Council District: 3
8. Public Outreach: Door hangers to local residents. DISD notified by phone and in
person.
