SUBJECT:
US 377/Ft. Worth Drive Project Extended Construction Hours
BACKGROUND:
The US 377/Ft. Worth Drive Widening and Reconstruction Project is a State project managed by
the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). TxDOT has provided the City with advanced
notice of their planned 24-hour construction schedule beginning August 3, 2020 and ending
September 30, 2020. The limits of the 24-hour work will take place between Roselawn and FM
1830 along US 377. SEMA Construction, Inc. is TxDOT’s contractor for the project. Over the
past two weeks, SEMA Construction, Inc. has distributed notices (depicted below) to all
residences and businesses within a 500-foot radius between Roselawn and FM 1830, and has set
out electronic message boards providing advanced notice to motorists regarding the planned
work.

DISCUSSION:
TxDOT has informed City of Denton staff that their contractor, SEMA Construction, Inc., will
begin operating a 24-hour shift schedule beginning August 3, 2020 and ending September 30,
2020. The construction work being performed will consist of milling, dirt excavation, and storm
pipe operations along US 377/Ft. Worth Drive between Roselawn and FM 1830. The 24-hour
work schedule will help expedite the completion of the US 377/Ft. Worth Drive Widening and
Reconstruction Project, currently scheduled for March 2021.
CONCLUSION:
The Public Affairs Department will share the public notice provided by SEMA Construction, Inc.
as well as the above project map through City media outlets including NextDoor, the City website
www.improvingdenton.com, and the Improving Denton email listserv. Contact information for the
