Benefits Updates COVID Test Copays During the fifth Employee Forum, and in an all-employee email update last week, the City’s benefits team updated employees on the COVID-19 testing cost-sharing extension. The federal regulation that waived cost-sharing (e.g., deductible, copay, coinsurance) for COVID testing and COVID testing-related visits has been extended. From Feb. 4, 2020, through Oct. 22, 2020, cost- sharing (copay, deductible, coinsurance) will be waived for COVID-19 testing and testing-related services. This applies to COVID testing and accompanying testing-related visits during this time, whether the visit is received in a health care provider's office, an urgent care center, an emergency department, or through a telehealth visit. Click here to view the communication provided to all employees from the City’s benefits team, including frequently asked questions. If you are on the City’s insurance plan and you were required to pay a copay for a COVID-19 test or test- related visit for yourself or a covered dependent, please email COVID19HR@cityofdenton.com. Annual Health Assessment AHA (Formerly HRA) Blood Draw Reminder The deadline to have your blood draw and follow-up appointment completed for the AHA has been extended to Oct. 30. Blood draws should be scheduled no later than Oct. 23 to allow enough time for your lab results to come in for a follow-up appointment by Oct. 30. Merit Freeze Lifted for FY 19-20 In case you missed it, part of the good news the City’s benefits team shared during the last Employee Forum was that the merit freeze that started April 18, 2020, has been lifted! Performance Reviews completed from April to now will receive a 3% retro pay increase. Employees will see the pay changes on the August 14 paycheck. All remaining reviews for the 2019-20 fiscal year will occur on the anniversary date and will also be subject to the 3% increase. If you have any questions, please speak with your supervisor. Human Resources Launched “Unfiltered” Series The “Unfiltered” series has been created to expose us to different filters and different experiences. It is our hope that by sharing these perspectives and experiences that we will all be able to start having more frank and honest conversations with each other. That by sharing these experiences, we will be able to “walk a mile in another’s shoes”, and that this experience will allow us to be more open to understanding one another, appreciate each other more fully, and be able to work together more successfully. Human Resources has collected some resources for employees who want to learn more, listen more, talk more, and educate themselves about racism and ways we can all take action to prevent it. Remote Work Resources Human Resources put together a HUB page full of resources, tools, and training options to help both employees and supervisors navigate this “new normal” of remote work and shelter in place as we continue to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic.
