I keep hearing “passive” enrollment. What does that mean? A passive enrollment means that if you are not making any changes to your current insurance coverages or waiving coverage (and you do not plan to have an FSA in 2021), then you do not need to re-enroll in your benefits. Your current benefit selections will simply roll-over on January 1, 2021. However, if you have a Medical or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or you plan to enroll for the first time, you MUST complete the enrollment process. Enrollment, or re-enrollment, in an FSA is required annually. **If you do not complete the FSA enrollment process, you will not have FSA coverage in the 2021 plan year.** It is recommended that every eligible employee attend a meeting - even if you are not making changes to your benefits for 2021. What if I have questions or need more help? Your Benefits Team is here for YOU! We will be holding virtual online one-on-one assistance sessions. Appointments are required. Virtual online assistance appointments will be available on the following dates: • Tuesday, October 13 - 8:00 a.m. to Noon• Thursday, October 15 - 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. View the appointment scheduler and make your appointment here (if viewing outside of the City of Denton network you will be asked to sign in using your network password). IMPORTANT REMINDERS • Online enrollment election must be completed no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020.• Employees electing Short-Term Disability (STD) for the first time (as a late entrant) will be required to complete a medical history questionnaire. • New enrollments, or those increasing coverage, for Supplemental Life Insurance, may be required to complete a medical history questionnaire based on your current coverage. • CHECK YOUR CHECK!
