Announcement OffboardingHello Managers!
We have been working to convert the current offboarding process to a new on-line version through the
NEOGOV system. We’ve streamlined the steps and paired down the information to make it easier for all.
Here is the new process to use when an employee is leaving the organization:
Offboarding
When an employee notifies you that they are resigning from their position with the City of Denton, you
can log into NEOGOV to initiate the termination and offboarding processes.
1. Click on Employees
2. Type the employee’s last name
3. Click on the employee’s #.
4. Click the icon at the top right of the screen. Then select Terminate.
5. Fill out the employee’s last day of employment (Separation Date.)
6. Click on the box to Start Offboarding. This is an important step to ensure the employee gets the
information they need to complete the offboarding process.
7. Click Terminate.
After you click Terminate, you will receive this message at the top of your screen.
To see your tasks, click on the Tasks box in the upper right corner of the screen beside your name.
The tasks in your checklist will let you know what items you need to complete and the due date for
the items. Some tasks may not be available for you to complete until the employee has completed
their task.
You, the employee, and the HR Business Partner will each receive an email when there is a task that
needs to be completed.
Once you receive an email that you have a task pending, click on the link in the email and it will take
you back to NEOGOV to complete your tasks.
At anytime, you can log into NEOGOV to see the progress that has been made on an Offboarding
Checklist for a specific employee.
1. Click on Employees in the top left corner of the page. Find the employee and then click on the
employee’s #.
2. On the lower left side of the page, click Offboarding and you will see the % complete on the
Checklist.
Once the offboarding process is complete by all parties, you will receive an email notification.
