Proposed Salary Range:
Depends upon the number of credit hours completed and demonstrated analytical capabilities
Definition: Under supervision of the Energy Market Manager, or as delegated to an EMO Senior Analyst, utilizes a broad knowledge of engineering, financial, and research principles
and practices to perform a variety of support functions to the Energy Management Organization.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs basic analysis on energy market data, existing and potential energy contracts, bids, offers, energy sales, market trends, P&L reports, and other assigned projects
Assists in the development of technical reports and market analysis by performing research, gathering applicable and supporting data, performing basic data analysis, preparing reports,
and utilizing Excel based computer models for a variety of energy management support for reporting
Learns from supervisory personnel how to perform basic engineering and financial calculations and other processes that support all aspects of the energy management function
Supports analytical data gathering through internal databases and external data sources, which includes web research
Works closely with Energy Market Operators to support the various tasks performed by the Operators, such as but not limited to reporting results
Utilizes teamwork concepts and ability to get along cordially with co-workers
As an individual contributor, under supervision, performs repetitive and routine tasks accurately, such as updating reports, updating models, and reviewing market based reports, such
as PUCT, NPRR, and various ERCOT reports, etc.
Perform various administrative tasks as required or assigned
Capability to learn advanced Excel functionality such as VBA code modifications and executing and modifying macro-based models
Additional Duties:

Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 15 hours of college or trade school credit in a related field such as; Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business, or another technical
field directly applicable to the electric utility industry.

Operation of the following equipment: Personal computer with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office (applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
), and Microsoft Outlook email system
Strong computational and analytical background
Experience in preparing written reports and documents
Experience performing repetitive and redundant tasks
Conditions of Employment:
Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license within 30 days of hire per state law)
Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Preferences:
Knowledge of Excel and VBA is helpful
