Definition: Responsible for providing additional help and support to the kennel staff in caring for the
shelter animals and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Essential Functions:
• Provides animal enrichment by walking dogs and socializing with cats.
• Provides excellent customer service to shelter visitors.
• Assistwith maintenance of the kennel area such as laundry, dish washing, and sanitation of kennels.
• Perform front desk duties.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
Additional Duties:
• Assistwith maintaining outdoor areas
• Walk dogs
• Bathe dogs
• Organize incoming donations
• Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
• Must be enrolled in High School or equivalent or a recent graduate
• Must be between the ages of 16 to 21 years of age

Conditions of Employment:
• Must be a resident of the City of Denton
• Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification
check
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday (15-20 hours per week)
Preferences:
• Willingness to interact with both cats and dogs
