Title: Student Aide (Mayor's Summer Youth Program) — Traffic Engineering

Definition: Responsible for assisting Traffic Engineering team with data filing, field observations and
research.
Essential Functions:
• Data filing using Excel, GIS and Engage Denton
• Field observations, including photos and measurements
• Research city and state policies and standards
• File meeting minutes for various types of meetings hosted by the Traffic team
• Regular and punctual attendance
Additional Duties:
• Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
• Must be enrolled in High School or equivalent or a recent graduate
• Must be between the ages of 16 to 21 years of age

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to interact with customers professionally
Conditions of Employment:
• Must be a resident of the City of Denton
• Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number
verification check
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday (15-20 hours per week)
