Reports to:
Center Manager
Definition: Responsible for providing excellent customer service, completing registrations, extensive cash handling, supervising the activities in the building and assisting at other
recreation facilities and other divisions within the department.
Essential Job Functions:
Answers telephone, check messages, and return phone calls
Greets ALL Customers as they enter the building with excellent customer service
Registers participants for department's programs in CivicRec Software.
Performs cash handling duties
Monitors building rentals, assists with clean-up and reports any damages or defaults in contracts
Helps to insure overall appearance of facility is in proper order at all times.
Explains different activities options, rules and benefits of each
Is familiar with and enforces facility's rules
Sets up tables, chairs and other equipment as needed for classes and/special events
Records hourly facility attendance and class attendance in daily log book
Completes administrative duties as assigned
Familiarizes self with facility programs and assists instructors as needed
Assists with programs and special events as needed.
Assists in monitoring and directing volunteers and community service workers as needed
Cleans facility as needed including assigned daily and weekly cleaning duties
Monitors facility during free play and classes
Assist in special event and rental coverage on weekends as needed.
Assists other recreation centers, athletics, tennis center, and youth/teen services with desk coverage, programs and special events.
Drives PARD vans or chaperones for designated trips.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Core Competencies:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers
Ability to understand and follow written instructions
Ability to learn basic maintenance functions
Conditions of Employment:
Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment
Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Must pass a medical physical
Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of employment
Must attend and successfully complete the City's Defensive Driving Course (DDC) as soon as possible after employment (if required to drive City vehicle or personal vehicle for City business)
Must be able to work various afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts
Preferences:
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Prior recreation experience
Prior customer service experience
Prior experience in a senior activity setting
3-6 months of college courses in recreation or education field
Cash handling experience--to include using a cash register, processing credit cards, cash reconciliation and deposits.
Experience using CivicRec or Rec1 registration and booking software
Experience working with Senior population
