Definition: Responsible for assisting elementary school children in crossing the street at designated intersections in a safe and orderly manner
Key Responsibilities:
Stops traffic flow across streets and intersections that may or may not have a permanent stop sign
Places traffic cones in the street before school begins and removes at end of school as needed
Notifies police headquarters of real or potential hazards and pedestrian accidents in the vicinity
Ability to get along with customers and co-workers
Regular and punctual attendance
Additional Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
Basic knowledge of municipal traffic regulations
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job

Ability to be diplomatic and tactful, yet decisive and firm
Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
Conditions of Employment:
Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Must be able to work 3 hours daily, morning and afternoon, on DISD school days
