Definition: Responsible for a variety of tasks related to: designing, developing, coding, recording, and placing into the Energy Management Database System (EMDS) electronic communication
and data from ERCOT as it relates to Energy Management Organization and ERCOT Energy Market. Perform System Administration functions for the Ventyx/ABB ETRM system and EMO Settlement
System.
Essential Job Functions:
Analyzes, designs, tests and implements applications for the analysis of energy market data
Gathers and thoroughly tests data to perform necessary analysis
Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment
Encodes project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language
Develops test plans for all phases of unit testing, acceptance testing and implementation
Performs and leads application development through entire lifecycle including: coding, testing, debugging, documentation, modification, and reporting.
Maintains and modifies existing code to conform to ongoing system or business requirements
Creates statistical reports for analysis of the energy market
Provides analysis of data audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Provides technical expertise and participates in the ERCOT market design and development process, for data delivery and formatting
Manages and maintains all production and non-production EMDS relational databases
Provides user training and support for in-house programs
Applies new technologies to improve processes and communications
Serves as the database system administrator for the Ventyx/ABB TRM & Nmarket systems. Task to include but not limited to user access, role definition, password resets, etc.

Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
Associates Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Information Systems, or a related field with 3 or more years’ experience;
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
Competencies:
Knowledge of wholesale fuel, electric markets
Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio
Knowledge of Version Control Systems
Knowledge of Relational Database design and administration
Knowledge of the following languages: C#, Java, HTML5,CSS3, JavaScript, SQL
Knowledge of the following frameworks: Spring, Quartz, Hibernate
Knowledge of Web Services using SOAP
Skill in planning, organizing, and managing multiple complex projects concurrently
Skill in data analysis and problem solving
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing work
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities

Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance

Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license within 30 days of hire per state law)
