Energy Prgms & Key Acct Admr - EP3301 - ENERGY SERVICES ORGANIZATION City of Denton Job Description Title: Energy Programs & Key Accounts Administrator Position ID: EP3301 Department/Division: Electric/Energy Services Reports to: Energy Services Manager FLSA Designation: Exempt Safety Sensitive: No DOT: No Definition: Responsible for establishing and maintaining the relationship between DME and its key accounts and work on combining their needs and requirements with DME's strategic plan. This position is also responsible for developing, managing and executing customer focused programs and services for Denton Municipal Electric (DME). Other responsibilities include implementing energy policies, supporting all aspects of Energy Services operations, and recommend strategies and overseeing special projects that will help save money for DME rate payers. Essential Functions: Identifies Key Accounts customers and develops and maintains profile database including information on the customer's needs, requirements, activities, associated business trends, manufacturing or production processes, and personnel Provides large customers with a single point of contact for all information and support they require from the City of Denton Represents DME in discussions with any large company or developers considering investment in a facility or development in Denton Works directly with Key Account customers to ensure proper service levels are maintained and special projects are executed Coordinates periodic cost of service analysis projects and rate analysis Enhances and manages relationships with existing residential, commercial and large industrial accounts to provide business services related to energy efficiency improvements and demand side management technologies Provides support in the examination, analysis and development of innovative business models that will enable DME to achieve comprehensive sustainable energy goals Supports Economic Development Department and the Chamber of Commerce in their efforts to attract new industries to Denton Monitors Planning Department activities and participate in all discussions, as needed, on behalf of DME Creates solutions to customer's energy challenges and/or service needs; assumes role of leadership in coordinating modification of existing services, products and policies, or the development of new products or services, etc., in response to industry changes and customer expectations. Creates and delivers presentations to the City Council, Public Utilities Board, and other groups as necessary. Analyzes data and collating information; write plans and reports; for developing, implementing and monitoring energy consumption reduction strategies Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned Serves as ERCOT Settlement and Rate Administrator backup, as needed Serves as Energy Services Manager backup, as needed Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Administration, Engineering or appropriate specialized field 5 years of experience with an electric utility or municipality OR Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job Core Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance Ability to proficiently operate the following equipment: Personal computer with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office application suite, Microsoft Outlook email system Proficiency with computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and Presentations Ability to solve and provide solutions Conditions of Employment: Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 30 days of hire per state law) Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check Must be able to work outside of regular business hours as required Must attend and successfully complete the City’s Defensive Driving Course (DDC) as soon as possible after employment (if required to drive City vehicle or personal vehicle for City business) Preferences: Bilingual in Spanish and English Physical Requirements: Overall Strength Demands: The italicized word describes the overall strength demand of the functions performed by the incumbent during a typical workday.
