Definition: Responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of all Electric Distribution Construction Projects.
Essential Functions:
Works with distribution customers, developers and contractors in an efficient manner
Assists Ground Tech thru Journeyman Lineman, making sure that they progress through the apprenticeship program in a timely manner
Work with developers and contractors to ensure projects are reconciled before project close-out
Work with Line Supervisor to prioritize materials & projects
Fills in for Line Supervisors when out for extended periods
Help with the duties of the Line Inspector when he is out of the office
Work with DME Logistics and Engineering to ensure that materials or services are available when crews need them
Work with Engineering and Finance to ensure project costs are properly allocated under each FERC account, which will help DME be able to track costs more accurately
Work with Engineering/Planning on materials lists to better understand what materials are needed and which materials can be deleted from inventory
Assists Line Division Manager with the current or future budget
Reviews prints for accuracy before turning them in to GIS
Requests supplies as needed
Maintains records as needed
Portrays a positive image to employees, customers, developers, contractors and the general public
Maintains reasonable telephone contact with departmental representatives at all hours as necessary
Ability to get along with customers and co-workers
Assist with providing presentations at Department, City and Public meetings as requested
Demonstrates computer and software proficiency on the City of Denton and DME software packages used
Demonstrates CPR, First Aid and the ability to apply all DME and APPA safety rules and regulations
Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance

Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ten years of electric utility experience with at least three years as a Supervisor
Completion of a valid 4-year Lineman Apprenticeship program that is recognized by the US Department of labor or the equivalent
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
Core Competencies:
Ability to direct and lead the electric utility construction work crews in the safe construction and maintenance of the electric distribution and transmission system in Denton
Ability to read, understand, and follow departmental safety rules and safe work procedures
Ability to work courteously with other employees and customers
Ability to lead others in job related matters
Preferences:
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Conditions of Employment:
Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license
and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)
Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check and social security number verification
Must have and maintain a valid Texas Class A CDL driver’s license
Must pass a physical examination

The essential functions of this position require the daily use of computers, printers and any number of office machines. From time to time it may require the use of various types of
hand and power tools. Requires the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and wear protective gear such as steel toe boots, gloves, hard hat, safety goggles, and hearing protection
when applicable.
Environmental Factors:
The essential functions of this position are primarily performed indoors (70%) and outdoors (30%) in all types of weather conditions.
