SUBJECT:
Denton County Appraisal District (DCAD) 2023 Proposed Budget
BACKGROUND:
The Finance Department has received the 2023 Denton Central Appraisal District (DCAD)
Proposed Budget. A copy is attached for your review.
There will be a public hearing on the proposed budget on June 23, 2022, at 3 pm at 3901 Morse
Street Denton, TX. Under State Law “If approved by the appraisal district board of directors at the
public hearing, this proposed budget will take effect automatically unless disapproved by a
majority of the governing bodies of the county, school districts, cities, and towns served by the
appraisal district.”
The total 2023 DCAD proposed budget is $17,997,944.33, an increase of $2,673,650.52 from last
year’s budget of $15,324,293.81. The City of Denton’s proposed 2023 allocation is $538,368.11.
If the City Council wishes to disapprove the budget, the DCAD must receive a resolution by July
23, 2022.
