Title: Field Services Worker II – Residential Solid Waste

Definition: Responsible for the safe collection of solid waste.
Essential Functions:
Picks up and unloads solid waste on residential routes including but not limited to garbage, recyclables, leaves, tree limbs, and appliances
Assists driver while they are backing the vehicle
Steam cleans and washes trucks and equipment
Delivers containers to new customers
Performs routine maintenance, pre/post operation equipment checks (oil, gas, etc.)
Operates compactor, mechanical and hydraulic mechanisms
Picks up litter
May be required to drive an assigned vehicle (½ ton truck) to respond to service calls
Additional Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Acceptable Equivalency:
High School diploma or GED equivalent with one year of experience in a field services environment
OR
Two years solid waste experience
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job

Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
Preferences:
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Additional years of experience in a field services environment
Preference may be given to applicants with a Texas commercial driver’s license
Conditions of Employment:
Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state
required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)
Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Must pass a physical examination
Work schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until route is finished
