Definition: Responsible for providing specialized support and case management for the court, including compliance with court orders, warrant processing, electronic import, and data
entry of citations, court correspondence processing, and payment processing.
Essential Functions:
Prepares and processes a variety of court paperwork which may include: warrants, extension, delinquency paperwork, motions, complaints, citations, and other related paperwork
Performs various clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment to include: filing, scanning, photocopying, preparing case files scheduling court dates, and other word processing
Responds to requests for information and inquiries from a variety of individuals which may include defendants, attorneys, internal staff, the general public, and other interested individuals
Monitors and maintains Monitors and maintains a variety of data and information in support of court operations which may include: preparing and verifying listings of cases ready for
a warrant; preparing and verifying listings of delinquency cases; activating warrants; downloading and entering citations
Provides Customer Service at Court Clerk’s window and through telephone inquiries to assist defendants in the resolution of cases by providing options for their citations; determine
fine amounts; explain payment options, set court dates, and other relative court information
Process and handles information and monies received by entering and updating case records, processing incoming and outgoing mail, posting transactions, verifying payments, balancing
cash drawers, and reconciling and preparing bank deposits
Processes all cases for warrants that have failed to appear, activates and files warrants and maintains the organization of the warrant room
Reviews and prepares an Affidavit of Probable Cause on cases being readied for capias pro-fine and arrest warrants
Assists and cross-trains with other Assistant Court Representatives II
Works with Judge and prosecutor on the integrity of warrants and those cases not eligible for processing
Maintains and updates training manual for the position
Ensures strict case processing procedures based on judicial and departmental policies and ethics
Verifies all cases processed to ensure accuracy of computer and case files
Works with Prosecutor to resolve any problematic cases
Works with prosecutor to resolve any problematic filing
Verifies disposed cases for archiving and record destruction
Processes out of state driver’s licenses suspensions to DPS on failure to appear cases
Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance
Additional Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Acceptable Equivalencies:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
AND
Two to four years of experience working in a court environment
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job

Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers
Preferences:
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Preference may be given to persons having experience dealing with high public contact
Conditions of Employment:
Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Must obtain Level I Court Clerk Certification within two years
