Definition: Responsible for supervising the clerks in the Municipal Court.
Essential Functions:
Supervises Assistant Court Representatives and the Court Collections Specialist
Assists the Court Administrator in hiring process, performance evaluations, disciplinary procedures and balancing workloads of the staff
Works with the Court Administrator, Municipal Judge, Prosecutor, and lead clerks in the implementation of new forms, policies, court procedures.
Assists the Municipal Court Administrator in implementation of legislative and court cost changes
Responsible for yearly Court Calendar for Judge and Staff
Responsible for payroll processes and timesheet management through electronic system
Oversees and coordinates the training and State Certification schedule for the assistant court representatives
Responsible for the supervision of the court collections improvement plan program, and monitoring and maintenance of all records associated with the collections program
Purchases and maintains supplies for the staff including items for daily use, forms used by the Judge and staff, and orders special project materials through an on-line purchase order
system. Initiates purchase orders and enters receivers
Retrieves, copies, and certifies open records requests from the public and governmental agencies
Responsible for purge and document destruction according to state regulations and initiates expunctions as ordered by Judge
Oversees warrant integrity and recalls ordered by the Municipal Court Judge and reports conviction corrections to Department of Public Safety
Works with the Court Administrator and Judge on changes to citations to comply with legislative changes and legal requirements
Prepares daily deposits and cash reports
Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance
Additional Duties:
Performs certain duties for the Court Administrator and the Court Services Supervisor when needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 4-6 years of experience in a Municipal Court
2 years supervisory experience
OR
Associates degree in related field and 6-8 years’ experience in a Municipal Court
3 years supervisory experience
OR
High School diploma or GED equivalent and 10 years’ experience in a Municipal Court
5 years supervisory experience
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job

Preferences:
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Working knowledge of Incode Court software
Working knowledge of Brazos Electronic Citations software
Working knowledge of Laserfiche or other imaging software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Previous supervisory experience
Conditions of Employment:
Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Must have Level I Court Clerk Certification
Must obtain Level II Court Clerk Certification within two years of employment
