Court Services Supervisor - GS3011 - MUNICIPAL COURT City of Denton Job Description  Title: Court Services Supervisor Position ID: GT3011-161300 Department/Division: Municipal Court Reports to: Municipal Court Administrator FLSA Designation: Exempt Safety Sensitive: No DOT: No Definition: Responsible for the day to day Municipal Court phone and lobby operations including assisting, training, and developing department Court Clerks. Essential Functions: Supervises the daily operation of the Municipal Court Customer Service Windows Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; coaching staff and taking appropriate corrective actions as needed; conducting performance evaluations; making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations Reviews clerks’ daily case management for accuracy and assists with balancing cash drawers Ensures clerks are in compliance with departmental policies and procedures Ensures adequate and efficient assistance to the public Develops and maintains staff schedule to provide quality customer service Provides primary backup assistance for Customer Service Windows Oversees Municipal Court’s phone line operations; answers and monitors Municipal Court phone lines to ensure adequate coverage and minimal wait time for inbound phone calls. Functions in a paperless environment utilizing macros in a queue based workflow Supervises and participates in responding to complex requests for information and assistance; provides information regarding applicable policies and regulations; researches and resolves concerns and complaints from internal and external customers; refer inquiries as appropriate Ensures Court Clerk cash drawers and Court change fund are adequately stocked. Prepares daily deposits and cash reports Responsible for developing and ensuring compliance with standards for Municipal Court cash handling area and conducts routine audits. Disseminates information and provides training on updates and changes involved in case processing to direct reports Provides complex, specialized administrative support in processing timesheets, maintaining change fund, and maintaining departmental records and forms Assists with payroll processes and timesheet management through electronic system Performs quality evaluations of employee/defendant interactions and provides timely feedback Conducts individual staff and departmental meetings Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance Additional Duties: Fills in for Court Supervisor and Assistant Court Administrator when needed Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and at least three years in a Municipal Court environment and at least three years in customer service working directly with the public including experience in cash handling. OR Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.
