Enterprise Infs Mngr - TS4002 - TECH SVCS - ADMINISTRATION City of Denton Job Description  Title: Enterprise Infrastructure Manager Position ID: TS4002 Department/Division: Technology Services Reports to: Chief Technology Officer FLSA Designation: Exempt Safety Sensitive: No DOT: No Definition: Responsible for managing, developing, communicating, documenting and implementing hardware and software applications and enterprise server/storage infrastructure used across all city departments including managing the Application Development team of Application Architects and System Architects. Essential Job Functions: Reviews, communicates, participates and recommends application software and hardware for enterprise and department specific software application needs. Reviews enterprise infrastructure technologies and recommends upgrades and enhancements. Helps to achieve user satisfaction while maintaining a high level of software application and infrastructure security. Arranges and administers change control measures to prevent unapproved system configurations. Coordinates any security camera investigations and open records requests for e-mail. Ensures that the City’s software applications are readily accessible only to those authorized to access them. Supervises the Application Development personnel including hiring, training, coaching, and performance feedback. Develops, implements, and documents on-going management of enterprise software applications, servers and storage needs. Meets regularly with departments to discuss business process and software application needs and initiatives and manages all application development projects. Manages software application upgrades and maintenance to ensure proper planning, testing, and execution of plans. Provides advice to senior management of the organization and line managers on the necessary server hardware and software application design and configuration. Serves as fourth (4th) level technical support for all application and infrastructure related issues. Manages the Application Development technology budget. Works collaboratively with third party auditors, internal auditing, and City departments in compliance with all regulatory oversight requirements. Drafts and communicates all audit findings and recommendations to management. Verifies compliance plans against established policies and procedures and applicable regulations as it deals with enterprise hardware and software applications. Develops and maintains detailed records regarding all systems hardware and software application. Establishing and following established change control practices. Coordinates the relationships and strategies necessary to effectively oversee the responsibilities of providing a current and viable Disaster Recovery Plan as it deals with applications and infrastructure. Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications/Acceptable Equivalency: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field with six to eight years of equivalent experience involving technology services systems support with emphasis on application management, server and desktop virtualization and SAN infrastructures. OR Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field with four to six years of equivalent experience involving technology services systems support with emphasis on application management, server and desktop virtualization and SAN infrastructures. OR Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job. Advanced knowledge of server and desktop virtualization environments using VMware hypervisor. Advanced knowledge of enterprise SAN devices and configurations using EMC disk storage products. Advanced knowledge of converged infrastructure using VCE products or a combination of VMware, Cisco UCS, and EMC disk storage. Advanced knowledge of replication technologies that provide site level redundancy. Conditions of Employment: Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 30 days of hire per state law). Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check. Must be able to work additional hours outside of normal working hours when requested and must be available to be on call as needed.
