WHEREAS, good neighbors play an invaluable role in fostering a safe,welcoming,and vibrant
environment, offering a helping hand, building connections, and contributing to
the overall well-being of our city;and
WHEREAS, acts of mutual respect and active participation in our neighborhoods enhance civic
engagement and strengthens community bonds;and
WHEREAS, September 28th has been designated National Good Neighbor Day by the United
States Government.
NOW,THEREFORE, I, Gerard Hudspeth, Mayor of the City of Denton,Texas, do hereby declare and
proclaim the 28th day of September 2025 as
"GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY"
in the City of Denton and encourage all citizens to make a special effort on that
day to get to know your neighbors and to demonstrate what being a good
neighbor is all about through acts of kindness and hospitality.
