Court CITY City of Denton DENTON Job Description Title: Student Aide (Mayor's Summer Youth Program) — Municipal Court Position ID: SA0002 Department/Division: Municipal Court Reports to: Court Administrator FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: No DOT: No Definition: Responsible for clerical assistance to Municipal Court staff. Essential Functions: • Assist in filing duties • Insert letters into envelopes and seal • Log mail in Excel database • Review case file for document inspection • Operate office machines and equipment, such as copier, scanner, and pc. • Perform data entry • Checking and entering data • Assist with office organization • Answer phone to take messages or redirect call to appropriate colleagues Additional Duties: • Box up used toner cartridges for shipping • Archive and box documents and records in stockroom • Setup tables and chairs in conference room • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications / Acceptable Equivalency: • Must be enrolled in High School or equivalent or a recent graduate • Must be between the ages of 16 to 21 years of age Core Competencies: • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance • Ability to interact with customers professionally Conditions of Employment: • Must be a resident of the City of Denton Job Description Template —Job Code Page 2 of 3 • Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check • Must be able to work Monday through Friday (15-20 hours per week) Preferences: • Knowledge of standard office programs, such as Microsoft Office.
