ADDENDUM # 3
Following are responses to the questions asked by potential vendors after
Addendum # 2.
Q1. #28 (What is the default setting for your Controller in case of a loss of
communications to the headend system) is not clear to us. Could this be re-written to
make it more clear what is being asked in terms of the Controller default settings?
R1: City would like to know, If the controller lost communication to the CMS
(Computer Management Software), will it retain the last known configuration
settings or it will go back to the factory default settings?
Q2. #74 and #58 (# 74 If done at DME or the users choice, please provide a detailed
list of hardware requirements needed to successfully operate your control system? #58.
If your Controller/control system is hosted in-house, what are the server/hardware
/software requirements? Appears to be same, please clarify.
R2: #74 and Q#58 are the same questions.
Q3. Controls RFP states a quantity of 7500 post top controls are required. Fixture RFP
Indicates a quantity of 740 post top fixtures.
R3: Number of Post top lights = 2500 Number of Cobra Head lights = 7500
Q4. Can the city clarify the quantity of post top retrofit kits required and control nodes for
post top fixtures?
R4: From 2000 to 3000
Q 5. RFP requires controller or nodes for post top fixtures with 7 pin receptacles. I was
looking at the retrofit kit you are using on your post tops and it doesn’t have an option
for the P7.
R5: That is why we are asking for a retrofit or the best practical solution
/recommendation.
Q6. Will this solution be compatible with the city’s LED retrofit solution for post top
fixtures?
R6 Currently City is unaware, In RFP we require that the successful bidder is able
to provide the City with such a solution.
Q7. In the main document it states contract will be for five (5) years but in Addendum #
1 it asks pricing for Ten (10) years of service. Please clarify?
R7. The contract to supply lighting will be for a period of five (5) years. The City
will require total Ten (10) years of warranty service on equipment and software
and unit pricing should include annual cost of hosting for such software.
NO OTHER CHANGES AT THIS TIME.
