The scope of work shall be finalized upon the selection of the Firm. The respondent’s submission shall have accurately described your understanding of the objectives and scope of the
requested products and services and provided an outline of your process to implement the requirements of the Scope of Work and Services. It is anticipated that the scope of work will
include, at a minimum, the following:
SCOPE
This project consists of the design, procurement and installation of a commercial public playground equipment, impact attenuation surfacing material and play structure at Quakertown
Park located at 700 Oakland St. in Denton, Texas. Work is to include the design of a play system within the existing play area boundaries, as well as the installation of commercial
grade playground equipment, equipment footings, drainage materials, landing mats, and fall zone material.
Playground Suppliers shall provide a maximum of (2) two designs for each park playground.
Design of playground must meet or exceed all current federal CPSC, ASTM, IPEMA standards and ADA requirements. The proposals shall include the costs of delivered play systems as designed,
inclusive of the equipment structures, components, hardware, detailed technical installation instructions and maintenance & operations manuals from manufacturer.

Surfacing must meet applicable standards ASTM F2223-10, F1292, F1951, F2479, F2075
Must meet ASTM F1487-17 Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use
Fences/Barriers must meet ASTM F2049-11
All equipment must be IPEMA Certified
Scope and size of new playground is limited to the existing concrete border footprint
Must use durable UV resistant colors and materials
Must contain independent play features
Shade canopies on playgrounds – metal preferred
Impact mats under swings and slide exits required
Surfacing – Subsurface shall consist of drainage rock overlaid with a geotextile fabric and covered with a minimum 12” Engineered Wood Fiber
Along with the quote vendors must provide an electronic copy scaled drawings and colored renderings of the proposed playground.
1 - 2 days prior to existing playground removal the vendor is responsible for ordering and installing 6’ tall temporary construction fencing around the construction area. Coordinate
with
the Parks and Recreation Department regarding the timing of fence installation to ensure the existing structure is removed. The fence will be removed by the vendor after the playground
installation is complete and approved by the City of Denton.
Playground must meet or exceed number of play activities in current playgrounds and must not exceed a total of $100,000.00.
A CPSI must be on site during construction and an independent audit must be performed on finished product prior to acceptance by City of Denton.
DELIVERY: Delivery should be approximately 4 to 6 weeks after notice to proceed. Vendor is responsible for offloading the truck and be present to inventory delivered components.
INSTALLATION: Grade work, drainage rock, concrete, fabric, and impact attenuating surfacing to be installed by vendor and must meet ASTM standards.
This is a partial playground replacement, the 5-12 structure and swing set will remain. Consultation with Park Maintenance required to determine amount of engineered wood fiber to be
replaced. Approximate amount 100 cubic yards
Installation to occur after May 5, 2019.
Project funded via Community Block Development Grant and must comply with Federal Wage Rate Decision and other guidelines.
Provide installation timeline and schedule
ADDITIVE ALTERNATE: LIMITED SERVICE WARRANTY: In addition to the manufacturer's product warranty, the vendor provides a supplemental service warranty covering the labor for replacement
of any warranted products installed by the vendor. For the duration of the product warranty period, any products to be replaced under the manufacturer's warranty will be removed and
reinstalled by the vendor at no cost to the City of Denton.

A. Quakertown Park Playground
Playground Removal – City of Denton Parks and Recreation will remove existing playground equipment within the footprint of the playground which includes play components, concreted posts,
fabric, drainage rock, drainage pipe, and wood fiber.
2-5 Playground Installation – This includes material, delivery and installation of the playground. All applications standards must follow the guidelines stated in the notes.
