AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND RAGLE, INC. FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTH BONNIE BRAE STREET WIDENING AND
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT PHASE 1; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
THEREFOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (IFB 6390 -CHANGE ORDER NO.4
IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $246,971.93, FORA TOTAL CONTRACT AWARD
AGGREGATED TO $12,683,171.52).
WHEREAS, on June 20,2017, by Ordinance No. 2017-183, the Council awarded a contract
to Ragle, Inc., in the amount of $11,810,220.07 for the construction of the South Bonnie Brae Street
Widening and Improvements Project Phase 1; and
WHEREAS, OnFebruary6, 2018, by Ordinance No. 18-127, the City awarded Change Order
No. 1 between the City ofDenton and Ragle, Inc., in the amount of$564,500.38; and
WHEREAS, on July 2, 2018, Purchasing awarded Change Order No.2 between the City of
Denton and Ragle, Inc., in the amount of$47,559.14; and
WHEREAS, On November 12, 2018, Purchasing awarded Change Order No. 3 between the
City ofDenton and Ragle, Inc., in the amount of$13,920; and
WHEREAS, the Staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended to
the Council that a change order be authorized to amend such contract agreement with respect to the
scope of work and an increase in the payment amount; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Change Order No. 4, increasing the amount of the contract between the City
and Ragle, Inc., which is on file in the office ofthe Purchasing Agent, in the amount of Two Hundred
Forty-Six Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-One and 93/100 ($246,971.93) dollars, is hereby
approved and the expenditure of :funds therefore is hereby authorized in accordance with said change
order. The total purchase order amount increases to $12,683,171.52.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
