Published Questions
Question I see there are 30 acres mentioned. Is this one or several parks so we can see our access? Are
there specs on which material and how much of each one? We normally use dyno dirt to top
dress which is easy to calculate but is there a ratio or amounts of the lava sand etc? ( I may have
missed it in the quote)
Answer Locations will either be Athletic Fields or Park open space within the City of Denton. I have a
budget that I need to stay within so I am waiting on cost to try to schedule within that budget. I
plan on doing multiple locations each year. I will NOT have the contractor come in and just top-
dress a couple of acres. The smallest park will be approximately 5 acres. And the smallest
athletic field will be 1 acre. Only the turf (Bermuda) will be top-dressed. Topdressing Material will
need to be applied at a minimum of ¼” Dyno Dirt Compost – City of Denton manufactured and
sold nutrient-rich compost meeting TCEQ requirements for uncontrolled use as a soil
conditioner. This product will be paid for by the Parks Department but pickup and delivery will be
coordinated and supplied by the contractor. Product is located at 1100 S. Mayhill Rd. Denton,
TX. Dyno Lite Compost – City of Denton manufactured compost made with no bio-solids and
100% yard waste. This product will be paid for by the Parks Department but pickup and delivery
will be coordinated and supplied by the contractor. Product is located at 1100 S. Mayhill Rd.
Denton, TX USGA Sand - USGA specification 80% screened sand and 20% organic matter.
Lava Sand – Sand sized material left from lava gravel use as a soil amendment. Topdressing
Material will need to be applied at a minimum of ¼”.
