SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Impact Promotional Services, LLC dba Got You
Covered Workwear & Uniforms, for the supply of uniforms for the Fire Department; providing for the
expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (IFB 7012-2 - awarded to Impact Promotional
Services, LLC dba Got You Covered Workwear & Uniforms, in the three (3) year, not-to-exceed amount
of $350,000).
IFB INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The Fire Department provides uniforms for all civil service employees. Uniforms are purchased on an as-
needed basis each fiscal year, which includes provisions for new employees. Department Standard
Operating Procedures comply with the National Fire Protection Association 1500 Occupational Safety
Standard and 1975 Standard on Station/Work Uniforms, which outline the specifications for fire retardant
clothing.
Invitation for Bids was sent to 116 prospective suppliers of this item. In addition, specifications were placed
on the Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the local
newspaper. Five (5) bids were received. The lowest bid was received by Impact Promotional Services, LLC
dba Got You Covered Workwear & Uniforms.
