AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND JAGOE-PUBLIC COMPANY, FOR
THE MCKINNEY STREET WIDENING PHASE II PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR; AND PROVDnqG AN EFFECTIVE DATE (HB 7154
– CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 1N THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $382,380.48 FOR A
TOTAL CONTRACT AWARD AGGREGATED TO $10,854,202.23).
WHEREAS, on November 19, 2019, by Ordinance No. 19-2729, the Council awarded a
contract to Jagoe-Public Company, in the amount of $10,471,821.75 for the McKinney Street
Widening Phase II project; and
WHEREAS, the Staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended to
the Council that a change order be authorized to amend such contract agreement with respect to the
scope of work and an increase in the payment amount; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCEL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAnqS:
SECTION 1. Change Order No. 1, increasing the amount of the contract between the City
and Jagoe-Public Company, which is on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, in the amount of
Three Hundred Eighty-Two Thousand Three Hundred Eighty and 48/100 Dollars ($382,380.48), is
hereby approved and the expenditure of funds therefore is hereby authorized in accordance with said
change order. The total purchase order amount increases to $10,854,202.23 .
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
