Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet CO 1City of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement and Compliance ACM: David Gaines DATE: July 28, 2020 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the approval of Change Order No. 1 to the contract between the City of Denton and Quality Excavation, LLC, for the 2019 Street Reconstruction project for the City of Denton with geographical limits as follows: Hercules Lane from Locust Street to Stuart Road, Scripture Street from Thomas Street to Jagoe Street, Thomas Street from West Oak Street to Panhandle Street, and Windsor Drive from North Locust Street to Armstrong Street; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (IFB 7237 – Change Order No. 1 in the not-to-exceed amount of $81,087.45 for a total contract award aggregated to $10,283,442.90). INFORMATION /BACKGROUND The 2019 Street Reconstruction project consists of the reconstruction of roadways listed above. This reconstruction shall include new curb and gutter, ADA compliant ramps in sidewalks, asphalt or concrete roadways, as well as upgraded drainage, water, and wastewater facilities. The Purpose of this change order is to compensate the contractor for various additional items associated with the construction of the 2019 Street Reconstruction Project that were not include in the original bid plans. These items include: • Additional work due to unforeseen soil conditions • Additional work due to utility conflicts • Additional quantities for work on Thomas Street PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) In 2018, Council approved Pape-Dawson to perform Design Engineering for the project On February 18, 2020, City Council approved a contract with Quality Excavation, LLC, in the not-to-exceed amount of $10,202,355.45 (Ordinance 20-362). PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS Quality Excavation, LLC Aubrey, TX ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This project will be started upon approval with a completion date within 756 calendar days. FISCAL INFORMATION These services will be funded from Construction Sub Contractor account 350457467.1360.40100. Purchase Order #192874 will be revised to add $81,087.45. The total budgeted amount for this item is $10,283,442.90.
