AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET
DEPARTMENT: Procurement and Compliance
CFO: Antonio Puente, Jr.
DATE: July 21, 2020
SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
rejecting any and all competitive bids under IFB 7368 for irrigation supplies for the Parks Department; and
providing an effective date (IFB 7368).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
Invitation for bids were advertised and sent to 80 irrigation component suppliers in IonWave. One bid was
received and reviewed by staff. Upon review, staff discovered that quoted prices were higher than expected
and key items were not quoted including delivery to the worksite. Due to insufficient bidding, the
department has decided to reject all bids. However, the department would like to put the bid out again, in
hopes of receiving more bids that include all sections requested.
In accordance with the Local Government Code 252.043, the City Council may reject any and all bids.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends rejection of all bids for the supply of irrigation system repair and installation components.
