SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Texas Series of Lockton Companies, LLC, for
property and causality insurance brokerage services; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and
providing an effective date (RFP 7365 – awarded to Texas Series of Lockton Companies, LLC, for one (1)
year, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total three (3) year not-to-exceed
amount of $480,000).
INFORMATION /BACKGROUND
This request is for a new Broker of Record to improve the City’s efficiencies and reduce overall Cost of
Risk by addressing Claims processes, costs, liabilities, partners used throughout the partner network, and
other methods used to control overall cost.
Engage the services of Lockton’s Dallas office to further assist in multiple projects to address the overall
cost of Risk to the City, which will result in significant savings in coming months and years. Assigning a
new Broker of Record is only the first step.
Requests for Proposals was sent to 61 prospective suppliers of this item. In addition, specifications were
placed on the Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the
local newspaper. Six (6) proposals were received and evaluated based upon published criteria including
compliance with specifications, probable performance and price. Based upon this evaluation, Texas Series
of Lockton Companies, LLC was ranked the highest and determined to be the best value for the City.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT
This is an initial one (1) year contract with options to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1) year
periods, with all terms and conditions remaining the same.
FISCAL INFORMATION
These products and services will be funded through the using department’s budget on an as-needed basis.
The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless
needed.
