Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet - CTCCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement & Compliance ACM: David Gaines DATE: September 1, 2020 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc., for the purchase of Traffic Signals and Hardware, Section A – Signal and Pedestrian Heads, Section E – Detectors and Section F – Crossing Systems, to be stocked in the City of Denton Distribution Center; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (IFB 7398 - awarded to Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc., for three (3) years, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total five (5) year not-to-exceed amount of $500,000). IFB INFORMATION/BACKGROUND Traffic Signals and Hardware allow for safe vehicle and foot traffic across intersections. These signals also work to flow traffic through the city using LED lights as visual indicators to the end users. Vehicle detection systems and sensors are used to help the signals know when vehicles are present at the intersections. The hardware on this IFB support the use of these systems. Traffic Signals and Hardware are stocked in the Warehouse and used on an as needed basis. Invitation for Bids was sent to 71 prospective suppliers of this item. In addition, specifications were placed on the Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the local newspaper. Five (5) bids meeting specifications were received. The lowest bid was received by Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc. The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless needed.
