SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Reinland Corporation dba Reinert Paper &
Chemical, for Miscellaneous Warehouse Stock Items to be stocked in the City of Denton Distribution
Center, Section A – Trash Can Liners; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an
effective date (IFB 7481 – awarded to Reinland Corporation dba Reinert Paper & Chemical, for three (3)
years, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total five (5) year not-to-exceed
amount of $105,000).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The proposed contract is for the purchase of trash can liners, which are primarily used by departments for
jobsite cleanup. The Parks and Recreation Department also uses these trashes can liners in public use
facilities to help keep those areas safe and clean. The supply of the miscellaneous items will be stocked in
the Distribution Center for ease of ordering.
Based on the historical spend of these items being $21,000 annually, the recommended NTE for this contract
is $105,000 for a total potential five (5) year contract.
Invitation for Bids was sent to 195 prospective suppliers of this item. In addition, specifications were placed
on the Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the local
newspaper. Eight (8) bids meeting specifications were received. The lowest bid for Section A was received
by Reinland Corporation dba Reinert Paper & Chemical.

not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless needed.
