Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet - Amendment 1City of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement & Compliance ACM: David Gaines DATE: January 12, 2021 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the approval of a first amendment to a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Denton and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., amending the contract approved by City Council on January 14, 2020, in the not-to-exceed amount of $1,398,600.00; said first amendment to provide additional design engineer services, permitting services, and construction administration services in support of the Northwest Booster Pump Station and Water Transmission Main project; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (RFQ 6590-081 – providing for an additional first amendment expenditure amount not-to-exceed $126,300.00, with the total contract amount not-to-exceed $1,524,900.00). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The proposed amendment is for additional design engineering, permitting, and construction administration for the Northwest Booster Pump Station and Water Transmission Main as part of the Water Distribution Master Plan. This pump station and transmission main will serve to efficiently deliver water to the northwest upper-pressure plane and the northwest elevated storage tank, ensuring water quality standards are met, reducing tank fill time, and reducing water age in the northwest upper-pressure plane. The original contract with Kimley-Horn for $1,398,600 did not include the additional design services, permitting services, and construction administration services for the additional line segments for Water and Wastewater, or the additional fiber lines that are included in the amendment. These additional line segments will also require additional easements and permits from TxDOT. Kimley-Horn will include betterment calculations and coordination efforts with TxDOT for these additional utility segments. PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) On January 11, 2021, this item will be presented to the Public Utilities Board (PUB) for consideration. On January 14, 2020, City Council approved a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., in the not- to-exceed amount of $1,398,600 (Ordinance 19-2973). On March 6, 2018, and June 5, 2018, Council approved RFQ 6590 for a prequalified list of professional engineering firms (Ordinance 2018-331). City Hall 215 E. PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. Fort Worth, TX ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This project will be started upon approval with a completion date by March of 2023.
