BACKGROUND Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. By doing this as a cooperative effort, the combined purchasing usage of these entities was utilized to realize competitive pricing and reduced administrative costs of individual bidding. This contract includes athletic field maintenance supplies and equipment, sport-specific supplies, and equipment such as, but not limited to, the following sports: basketball, soccer, kickball, football, pickleball, softball, baseball, volleyball, golf, tennis. This contract also includes gymnasium supplies and equipment, park amenities and equipment, and field lighting products. On February 1, 2005, Council approved the interlocal agreement with the Buy Board Cooperative Purchasing Network (Ordinance 2005-034). The agreement, Contract Number #583-19, began 4/1/2019 for a one (1) year term, with two (2) optional one (1) year renewals. The contract latest implementation date is 4/1/2020 with a termination date of 3/31/2021. The agreement, Contract Number #592-19, began 10/1/2019 for a one (1) year term, with two (2) optional one (1) year renewals. The contract latest implementation date is 10/1/2021 with a termination date of 9/30/2022.
