Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information SheetCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement & Compliance ACM: David Gaines DATE: July 20, 2021 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager, or their designee, to utilize a contract with Holiday Autogroup, through the Tarrant County Purchasing Network Contract #2020-175, for two (2) new replacement Ford Police Interceptors for the Police Department; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 7699 – awarded to Holiday Autogroup, in the not-to-exceed amount of $115,200.10). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The acquisition of (2) new replacement police interceptor vehicles is the result of the coordinated efforts of Fleet Services and the Police Department to ensure vehicles and equipment are acquired and replaced in a timely manner. This ensures the safe and efficient response capability of the Denton Police Department. The City of Denton Police Department has standardized the fleet of pursuit vehicles to the Chevrolet Tahoe through a current contract with local vendor James Wood. General Motors halted production of Tahoes early in 2021 due to supply issues associated with COVID 19. The supply interruption has postponed vehicle orders through GM as well as several other manufacturers. The new Police Interceptor Vehicles will replace 2013 model Caprice sedans in the Traffic Division which exceed replacement criteria, are no longer in production, and have limited availability replacement parts. The Ford Police Interceptor provides the best performance for the Traffic Division’s vehicle application. Quotes were requested from two (2) local vendors and compared to 2020 pricing on PPV Tahoes. Holiday Autogroup provided the lowest turnkey quote to include emergency lighting and necessary equipment installed by Defender Supply. Pricing obtained through the Tarrant County Contract has been competitively bid and meets the statutory requirements of Texas Local Government Code 271.102. PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) On June 16, 1998, Council approved the interlocal agreement with Tarrant County (Ordinance 1998-175). RECOMMENDATION Award a contract with Holiday Autogroup, for two (2) new replacement Ford Police Interceptors for the Police Department, in the not-to-exceed amount of $115,200.10. City Hall 215 E.
