INFORMATION/BACKGROUND This request is for a 3-year contract with two (2) 1-year renewals to purchase water and wastewater chemicals for the Water Production and Reclamation Department. The departments utilize several chemicals in the treatment of safe water for the City of Denton and surrounding communities. Each chemical serves a unique purpose and is critical in the function of operations. The last chemical contracts were established in 2017 and each contract expires at the end of this fiscal year. In addition, specifications were placed on the Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the local newspaper. Fifteen (15) bids meeting specifications were received, references were checked, and bids were evaluated by section based upon published criteria including price, probable performance, and compliance with specifications.
