SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
rejecting any and all competitive proposals under RFP 7748 for Small Power Equipment purchase and
repair; and providing an effective date (RFP 7748).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The Parks Department solicited proposals for the purchase, maintenance, and repairs of small power
equipment used in Park Maintenance and other departments in the City. Only one proposal was received
when the solicitation closed, and after careful review of the one proposal that was received, it was
determined the best route for the City would be to utilize other contracts that are already in place for the
purchase of Small Power Equipment.
In accordance with the Local Government Coad 252.042, the City Council may reject any and all bids.
Request for Proposals was sent to 171 prospective suppliers. In addition, specifications were placed on the
Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the local
newspaper. One (1) proposal was received and evaluated. Due to the distance of the one vendor that
submitted and the lack of items that were bid, staff recommends rejection of all proposals for Small
Equipment Purchase, Maintenance, and Repairs.
