SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with GG Contractors LLC dba G2 General Contractors,
LLC, through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Network Contract Number TX-NT-P-101619-GGC,
for the remodel of the DTV office suite for the Public Affairs Department; authorizing the expenditure of
funds therefor; and declaring an effective date (File 7939 – awarded to GG Contractors LLC dba G2 General
Contractors, LLC, in the not-to-exceed amount of $164,236.17).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The proposed contract is for the renovation of the DTV area located in City Hall creating additional offices
and an edit suite. This renovation will allow DTV to take advantage of the area directly below the Council
Chamber and the DTV sound room allowing for the new area to be in direct connection for ease of
monitoring meetings as well as improving the quality of edited productions. The entire renovated area will
receive new flooring, electrical (including lighting and data), HVAC systems, doors, and paint. Nelson +
Morgan Architects was contracted for the design work. The project was approved through Permitting on
November 3, 2021, and has been registered with the Texas Department of Licensing & Registration for
ADA compliance.
Pricing obtained through Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Network has been competitively bid and
meets the statutory requirements of Texas Local Government Code 271.102.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On January 28, 2020, Council approved the interlocal agreement with Sourcewell (Ordinance 20-197).
RECOMMENDATION
Award a contract with GG Contractors LLC dba G2 General Contractors, LLC, for the remodel of the DTV
office suite for the Public Affairs Department, in a not-to-exceed amount of $164,236.17.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT

This Sourcewell contract expires on September 8, 2024.
