Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information SheetCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement DCM: David Gaines DATE: July 19, 2022 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., for engineering services related to the Southwest Booster Pump Station (SWBPS) Ground Storage Tank (GST) Coating project for the Water Production Department as set forth in the contract; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (RFQ 7574-015 – Professional Services Agreement for engineering services awarded to Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., in the not-to-exceed amount of $116,500.00). The Public Utilities Board recommends approval (6 - 0). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The ground storage tank located at the Southwest Booster Pump Station was installed in 2007. This is a painted steel tank that is showing signs of coating wear. Water Production is requesting that Parkhill, Smith and Cooper, Inc. be contracted to develop specifications, contract documents and provide bid-phase and construction phase services for the project. Re-coating will extend the life of the tank by preventing corrosion and will maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance of the asset. Request for Qualifications for professional engineering services for Water and Wastewater was solicited using the City’s formal solicitation process. City Council approved a pre-qualified list of engineering firms on March 23, 2021 (Ordinance 21-546). PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) On March 23, 2021, Council approved RFQ 7574 for a prequalified list of professional engineering firms for Water and Wastewater (Ordinance 21-546). On July 11, 2022, the Public Utilities Board (PUB) recommended this item to the City Council for consideration. RECOMMENDATION Award a contract with Parkhill, Smith and Cooper, Inc., for engineering services related to the Southwest Booster Pump Station (SWBPS) Ground Storage Tank (GST) Coating project for Water Production, in a not-to-exceed amount of $116,500. The budgeted amount for this item is $116,500.
