Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information SheetCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement DCM: David Gaines DATE: August 16, 2022 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with LabWare, Inc., for the maintenance and upgrades to the Laboratory Information Management System for the Water and Wastewater Laboratory, which is the sole provider of this software, in accordance with Texas Local Government Code 252.022, which provides that procurement of commodities and services that are available from one source are exempt from competitive bidding, and if over $50,000, shall be awarded by the governing body; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 8014 – awarded to LabWare, Inc., for three (3) years, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total five (5) year not- to-exceed amount of $152,400.00). The Public Utilities Board recommends approval (5 - 0). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The LabWare database is a laboratory information management system (LIMS) specifically built to accommodate all necessary laboratory documentation as it relates to sample analysis, sample compliance testing, and their results reporting. This request would provide for ongoing maintenance and periodic upgrades necessary to keep up with technology. Vendor support will be necessary for expanding the database's current capabilities with features that would make the data management system more robust. The initial contract was approved in 2014 and subsequently renewed in 2017. Wilmington, DE ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This is an initial three (3) year contract with options to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, with all terms and conditions remaining the same. FISCAL INFORMATION These services will be funded from Municipal Laboratory Division operating budget accounts 640500.6506 and 630500.6506. Requisition #156333 has been entered into the Purchasing software system in the amount of $11,155. The budgeted amount for this item is $152,400.
