STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT This action supports Key Focus Area: Promote Sustainability and the Environment. INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulatory monitors are used to assess regional air quality compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) but do not allow neighborhood-level assessment of local air quality affecting public health. The City is proposing the acquisition of non-regulatory air quality monitoring sensor equipment, along with limited meteorological and other equipment to support local air quality data collection. The City sought to identify a vendor that could provide air quality monitors for a pilot sampling project in the City of Denton, seeking the vendor to calibrate, deploy, and maintain during a 2-year study period. In addition, specifications were placed on the Procurement website for prospective suppliers to download, and advertised in the local newspaper. Two (2) bids meeting specifications were received. The lowest bid was received by Ambilabs, LLC. Requisition #160681 has been entered into the Purchasing software system in the amount of $150,000. The budgeted amount for this item is $455,707.
