Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet - Amendment 1City of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement ACM: Cassey Ogden DATE: February 20, 2024 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the approval of a first amendment to a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Denton and Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., amending the contract approved by City Council on August 16, 2022, in the not-to-exceed amount of $387,500.00, said first amendment to continue to manage and control the geometric network to a utility network in the capacity of Owner's Engineer to Denton Municipal Electric; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (RFQ 7804-004 – providing for an additional first amendment expenditure amount not-to-exceed $65,000.00, for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $452,500.00). STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT This action supports Key Focus Area: Enhance Infrastructure and Mobility. INFORMATION/BACKGROUND Denton Municipal Electric (DME) currently uses the ESRI ArcGIS software for geometric network (GN) for data modeling. Due to the end of the application’s lifecycle, DME is migrating to the new Utility Network (UN) platform. The original project's estimated date of completion was December 2023. The project efforts have expanded due to correlating projects for the OMS/ADMS and ArcFM Designer. The new estimated date of completion has been extended to March 2024. This change order requests additional efforts associated with the continuation and completion of the project which has been extended approximately three months to March 25, 2024. Burns and McDonnell has provided exceptional management of the existing Utility Network project. Continued technical guidance from the same firm will help to ensure the project remains successful. PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (Council, Boards, Commissions) On August 16, 2022, City Council approved a contract with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., in the not-to-exceed amount of $387,500 (Ordinance 22-1538). This item will be presented to the Public Utilities Board (PUB) on February 26, 2024, retroactively, due to the February 12, 2024 meeting not having a quorum. City Hall 215 E. FISCAL INFORMATION These services will be funded from DME's pre-qualified engineering services account 605171500.1360.3980. Purchase Order #200863 will be revised to include the first amendment amount of $65,000. The total amended amount of this contract is $452,500.
