SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the approval of a first amendment to a contract between the City of Denton and Weatherproofing
Services, LLC, amending the contract approved by the City Council on April 27, 2021, in the not-to-exceed
amount of $1,500,000.00; said first amendment to continue to provide roofing, gutter, and downspout
maintenance, repair, and installation services on various City buildings for the Facilities Management
Department; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (RFP 7606 –
providing for an additional first amendment expenditure amount not-to-exceed $375,000.00, with the total
contract amount not-to-exceed $1,875,000.00).

INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
In April 2021, Weatherproofing Services, LLC was awarded the City contract for gutter installation, repair,
and replacement, including downspouts and leaders; fascia and soffit installation, repair, and replacement;
and/or roof repair and replacement for all City-owned structures. The contract allows Facilities
Management to complete annual preventative maintenance as well as resolve unpredictable issues or
damages. The proposed amendment will continue to allow Weatherproofing Services to provide
maintenance, repairs, and installation of all services.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On April 27, 2021, City Council approved a contract with Weatherproofing Services, LLC, in the not-to-
exceed amount of $1,500,000 (Ordinance 21-753).
RECOMMENDATION
Award Amendment No. 1 with Weatherproofing Services, LLC, to continue to provide roofing, gutter, and
downspout maintenance, repair, and installation services on various City buildings for the Facilities
Management Department, in a not-to-exceed amount of $375,000, for a total amended contract amount of
$1,875,000.

FISCAL INFORMATION
These services will be funded from Facilities Management Operating budget account. Requisitions will be
entered on an as-needed basis. The total amended amount of this contract is $1,875,000.
