Per our contract with the City of Denton, RFP 8269,- Part 4, we are requesting an 8% increase in our administrative fee. The PPI data shows a 1.8% change in final demand (unadjusted) and a 3.2% change in final demand excluding food, energy, and trade from September 2023 to September 2024. See EXHIBIT A page 2. The Social Security Administration has announced a 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment for recipients in 2025, the smallest such increase since 2021. In Denton County, according to United Way, the cost of basics has outpaced wages. See ALICE EXHIBIT B page 2. We recently hired a more qualified staff member who requires a higher pay rate than the previous employee. Accurate data entry is critical for maintaining reliable records, ensuring effective decision-making, and improving overall efficiency. This helps prevent errors, saves time, and supports regulatory compliance. While we have one dedicated employee for the City of Denton contract, we have several other part-time employees that help pre-process clients and paperwork and enter data. Here is a view of other employees and the percentage of their work on customer service on utility clients: Shawnett (part-time) 50% of her activity is taking in paperwork and face-to-face interaction with utility clients Olivia (part-time) 75% of her activity is data entry of demographics for clients Tariana (part-time) 100% of her work is maintaining accurate reports and payments for city utility contract Additionally, one of our largest expenses is paper. We must keep records for 5 years, and we print out records (as well as keep digital) on clients. Here is a reference for how paper prices have escalated in 2024. • Boise Paper: Increased prices by $3.00/cwt for office papers, print papers, and converting papers starting April 1, 2024 • Sylvamo: Increased prices by 5-7% for office papers, printing papers, and converting papers starting April 5, 2024 • Finch: Increased prices by 5-7% for all grades of paper starting April 5, 2024 • Domtar: Increased prices by 5-7% for office papers starting April 8, 2024 • Sustana: Increased prices by 5-7% starting April 8, 2024 • Pixelle Specialty Solutions: Increased prices by 5-8% starting April 15, 2024 We feel this is a reasonable increase within the limits, and request 8% increase.
