24-2297 - 8546 - Rejection Ordinance ExecutedORD[NANCE NO. 24-2297
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON. A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, REJECTING ANY AND ALL COMPETITIVE BIDS UNDER IFB 8546
FOR POWER TRANSFORMER DiSPOSAL (SCRAP); AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE (IFB 8546).
WHEREAS, the City has solicited, received, and tabulated competitive bids to evaluate
Power Transformer Disposal (Scrap) (IFB 8546) in accordance with the procedures of state laws
and the City’s ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the City staff recommends, and the City Council has determined, that it is in
the best interest of the City that the herein described proposals should be rejected; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDA[NS:
SECTION 1. All competitive bids, as described in the “Invitation for Bid”, “Bid
Proposals”, or plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City’s Purchasing Agent are
filed according to the bid number assigned herein (IFB 8546 – Power Transformer Disposal
(Scrap)) are hereby rejected.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or their designee, is hereby authorized to execute all
necessary documents for the rejection of said proposals. The City Manager, or their designee, is
hereby authorized, in their discretion, to re-advertise to receive competitive bids, or proceed
otherwise, to procure goods and services described in IFB 8546.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Denton hereby expressly delegates the
authority to take any actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of
Denton under the IFB 8546 to reject said proposals to the City Manager, or their designee.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval .
The motion to approve this ordinance was made by Joe Holland and seconded by Brian
Beck. This ordinance was passed and approved by the following vote [4 - 3]:
