AN ORDINANCEOF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULEMUNICIPAL
CORPORATION,AUTHORIZINGTHE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTEA CONTRACT
WITH FRONTIERCOMMUNICATIONSPARENT,INC., THROUGHTHE [NTERLOCAL
PURCHASING SYSTEM(TIPS) COOPERATIVE PROGRAM CONTRACT NO. 220105 FOR[NTERNET SERVICES FOR THE TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DEPARTMENT;
PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR;AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVEDATE (FILE 8607 – AWARDED TO FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS
PARENT, INC., FOR THREE (3) YEARS, WITH THE OPTION FOR TWO (2)
ADDITIONAL ONE(1) YEAREXTENSIONS,IN THETOTAL FIVE (5)YEAR NOT-TO-
EXCEED AMOUNT OF $575,000.00).
WHEREAS,pursuantto Ordinance2011-082, The Interlocal PurchasingSystem
Programhas solicited, received,and tabulated competitive bids for the purchaseof necessary
materials,equipment,supplies,or services in accordancewith the proceduresof statelaw and
cityordinances;and
WHEREAS, the City Manager, or a designated employee, has reviewed and
recommendedthat the herein describedmaterials,equipment,supplies,or servicescanbe
purchasedby the City throughTheInterlocal PurchasingSystemProgramat lesscostthan the
City would expend if bidding these items individually; and
WHEREAS, this procurement was undertaken as part of the City’s governmental
function; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has provided in the City Budgetfor the appropriation of
funds to beused for the purchaseof the materials, equipment, supplies, or services approved and
acceptedherein;NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The items shown in the “File Number” referencedherein and on fileinthe
office of the PurchasingAgent, are hereby acceptedand approvedas being the lowest
responsiblebidsfor suchitems:

SECTION2. By theacceptanceand approvalof the itemssetforth in the referencedfile
number,the City acceptsthe offer of the personssubmitting the bids to The Interlocal Purchasing
SystemProgramfor suchitems and agreesto purchasethe materials, equipment, supplies, or
servicesin accordancewith the terms, conditions, specifications,standards,quantities, and for
the specified sums contained in the bid documents and related documents filed with The
InterlocalPurchasingSystemProgramandthepurchaseordersissuedby the City.
SECTION3. Shouldthe City and personssubmitting approvedand accepteditems set
forth in thereferencedfile numberwishto enterinto aformal written agreementasaresult of the
City’s ratification of bids awarded by The Interlocal Purchasing System Program, the City
Manager, or their designatedrepresentative, is hereby authorized to executethe written contract
which shall be attachedhereto;provided that the written contractis in accordancewith the
terms, conditions, specifications,and standardscontained in the Proposal submitted to
The Interlocal PurchasingSystem Program, and related documentsherein approved and
accepted
SECTION4. The City Council of the City of Dentonherebyexpresslydelegatesthe
authority to take any actionsthat may be required or permittedto be performed by the City of
Dentonunderthis ordinancetothe City Managerof the City of Denton,or their designee.
SECTION 5. By theacceptanceandapprovalof theitems setforth in the referencedfile
number,theCity Council herebyauthorizesthe expenditureof fundstherefor in the amount and
in accordancewith the approval purchaseorders or pursuant to a written contract made pursuanttheretoasauthorizedherein.
SECTION6. This ordinanceshall becomeeffective immediately upon its passage
and approval.
