Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information SheetCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement ACM: Christine Taylor DATE: May 6, 2025 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Technology Assets, LLC dba Global Asset, through the Buy Board Cooperative Purchasing Network Contract No. 760-25, for the service of asset recovery and recycling for retired technology assets for the Technology Services Department; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 8811 – awarded to Technology Assets, LLC dba Global Asset, for a five (5) year term). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The City of Denton has a continuous need for recovery and recycling services for data destruction and to dispose of retired technology equipment properly and securely. On July 19, 2022, City Council approved an ordinance for the service of asset recovery and recycling for retired technology assets for the City of Denton. Global Asset provides the pickup and transportation of the retired assets and issues certificates of data destruction and disposition for asset management record- keeping purposes. The recovery and recycling service is at no charge to the city, and if assets have a fair market value, Global Asset will provide payment to the city. The City of Denton has received $9,603.00 in revenue for IT asset recycling from this service. Examples of retired technology assets: • Computers/laptops • Audiovisual equipment (projectors/stands) • Fax machines/printers • Network Equipment • Any obsolete technical hardware Pricing obtained through the Buy Board Cooperative Purchasing Network has been competitively bid and meets the statutory requirements of Texas Local Government Code 271.102. McKinney Street Denton, Texas www.cityofdenton.com PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) On February 1, 2005, City Council approved the interlocal agreement with the Buy Board Cooperative Purchasing Network (Ordinance 2005-034). RECOMMENDATION Award a contract with Technology Assets, LLC, dba Global Asset, for the service of asset recovery and recycling of retired technology assets for the Technology Services Department, in a five (5) year term. PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS Technology Assets, LLC dba Global Asset Carrollton, TX SUSTAINABILITY MEASURES Global Asset is partnered with downstream vetted recycling organizations to process & “recycle” IT E- Waste graded scrap material. These partners adhere to EPA Recycling Standards, Responsible Recyclers R2/RIOS standard, ISO 14001, and no landfills or incinerators initiative. ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This is a five (5) year contract. This Buy Board contract expires on January 31, 2028. FISCAL INFORMATION There is no cost to the City of Denton for this service. If there are assets that are recycled with a fair market value, the payments from Global Asset will be deposited into Technology Services Revenue account number 8300.8162.
