AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET
DEPARTMENT: Procurement
ACM: Christine Taylor
DATE: July 15, 2025
SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
rejecting any and all competitive statements of qualifications under RFQ 8664 for a Pre-Qualified
Professional List for Events, League, and Award Shirts for the Parks and Recreation Department; and
providing an effective date (RFQ 8664).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The City of Denton conducted a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to request qualifications from multiple
vendors to create a pre-qualified list of vendors for the supply, printing, graphic design service, and delivery
of shirts and jerseys for the athletic leagues and special events for the Parks and Recreation Department.
An RFQ was placed on the procurement’s solicitation website for prospective suppliers to review and
submit their qualifications.
After evaluating submissions from two vendors, Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) staff
determined that rather than maintaining a pre-qualified vendor list, it would be more effective to contract
with a single vendor. As a result, PARD has chosen to utilize an existing cooperative contract with a local
vendor capable of meeting the department’s service needs.
In accordance with the Local Government Code 252.043, the City Council may reject any and all proposals.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the rejection of all responses for RFQ 8664 for a Pre-Qualified Professional List for
Events, League, and Award Shirts for the Parks and Recreation Department.
