The respondent’s submission shall have accurately described your understanding of the objectives and scope of the requested products and services and provided an outline of your process to implement the requirements of the Scope of Work and Services. It is anticipated that the scope of work will include, at a minimum, the following: The scope of work for the City of Denton fence installation and repair contract shall include the following specifications over the course of a 5-year contract. Specifications: 1. Product or Service needed A. Installation of the following a. Chain-Link Fence 1. Galvanized and vinyl coated chain-link fencing with varying build types up to 12’ tall. 2. Specialty chain-link fencing including backstops, dugouts, and barbed wire topped security fence. 3. Installation of gates including single, double, and sliding gates. 4. Replacement of fence fabric and frame components. b.Wooden Fencing 1. Cedar privacy fencing up to 8 feet in height. 2. Rough cedar split rail fencing c. Ornamental Fencing 1. Powder coated and painted ornamental fencing up 8 feet tall. 2. Installation of rock or brick columns per plan specifications. 3. Installation of gates, gate closers and locking mechanisms. d.Concrete Mow strips 1. Concrete mow strips may or may not be installed with all types’ fences. 2. Concrete must be 3000 psi or greater, reinforced with #3 rebar on 18” centers and poured with a minimum thickness of 4”. 3. Gate sections greater than 5’ of width must be poured with a minimum thickness of 8”. 4. Clean up of construction materials including forms and concrete slag must be cleaned up upon completion. 5. Repairs a. Chain-link Fence 1. Replacement of fabric 2. Replacement of hardware such as closers, hinges, drop bars, etc. 3. Replacement of fence due to damage including fabric and frame components. b.Wooden Privacy Fence 1. Replacement of wood due to damage and weather rot. 2. Cleaning and staining of existing fences. 3. Replacement of structural boards and posts. c. Ornamental Fence 1. Replacement of pickets or fence sections due to damage. 2. Repainting of fences. 3. Replacement of rock or brick columns due to damage. 2. Mandatory requirements A. Awarded bidder must follow supplied specifications for each project. B. Bidder must respond to requests for damage repairs within 24 hours and make necessary repairs within 10 days of notification. C. Bidders must possess city mandated insurance coverages during the entire life of the contract. D. Bidder shall be responsible for acquiring all necessary material and equipment to perform each project. This includes but is not limited to fence material, concrete, paint, soil, and tools. 3. Installation A. Chain-link a. Posts shall be set to comply with individual project plans and be buried at depths depending on fence height and type. b.Framework fittings shall comply with plans and vary in application; however, all mid and bottom railing shall use line rail clamps to joint sections to line posts. c. Fence fabric will vary by application with a minimum thickness of 11ga and a maximum of 6ga. All fabric shall be knuckle x knuckle unless specified otherwise. Posts on privacy fences must be comprised of sch40 or equivalent steel set to depth dependent on each project and fence height. b.Pickets on privacy fencing must be fastened with galvanized screws or galvanized ring shank nails. c. Stain and fence sealer must be applied in a uniform fashion with attention to overspray and area masking. C. Ornamental Fence a. All material used must comply with plans. b.Post depths shall vary with fence height and application. c. Welds must be free of voids and cleaned properly prior to paint application. d.Finish shall be dictated by supplied specifications for each project. This includes surface preparation, priming and finishes such as powder coat, urethane paint, water-based paint, and oil-based paint. 4. Warranty A. Awarded bidder shall warranty chain-link fence for no less than 10 years for structural defects such as post leaning and fabric loosening. B. Bidder shall warranty finishes to all components for no less than 5 years against defects such as fading, chipping and discoloration. C. Bidder shall warranty mechanical components for no less than 3 years including hinges, latches, and closers. D. Bidder shall warranty all stone or brick columns for a period of no less than 10 years against cracking and decomposition. E. Bidder must warranty all concrete mow strips for a period of no less than
