SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the approval of a first amendment to a contract between the City of Denton and Cintas
Corporation No. 2, amending the contract approved by City Council on September 14, 2021, in the not-to-
exceed amount of $2,153,000.00; said first amendment to continue to provide uniforms and accessories
rentals for all City of Denton Departments; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing
an effective date (File 7738 – providing for an additional first amendment expenditure amount not-to-
exceed $538,250.00, with the total contract amount not-to-exceed $2,691,250.00). The Public Utilities
Board will consider this item on Monday, November 17, 2025.

INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
This amendment requests an increase to the not-to-exceed amount for the contract providing rental and
laundering services for uniforms worn by City of Denton employees who are required to wear uniforms as
part of their job duties. Per the City’s uniform policy, departments must obtain uniforms through a vendor
approved by the Procurement Department, either by purchase or rental. In addition to uniforms, the contract
includes the rental and laundering of related items such as doormats and shop towels for various City
facilities.
This amendment ensures the continued provision of essential uniform and facility services for City
operations.
Pricing obtained through the Omnia Partners Cooperative Purchasing Network has been competitively bid
and meets the statutory requirements of Texas Local Government Code 271.102.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On September 14, 2021, City Council approved the interlocal agreement with Omnia Partners (Ordinance
21-1842).
On September 14, 2021, City Council approved a contract with Cintas Corporation No. 2, in the not-to-
exceed amount of $2,153,000 (Ordinance 21-1860).

RECOMMENDATION
Award Amendment No. 1 with Cintas Corporation No. 2, to continue to provide uniforms and accessories
rentals for all City of Denton Departments, in a not-to-exceed amount of $538,250, for a total amended
contract amount of $2,691,250.

FISCAL INFORMATION
These products and services will be funded through the using department’s budget on an as-needed basis.

obligated to pay the full contract amount unless needed.
